A new report published in JAMA Internal Medicine suggests baby boomers are aging worse than their parents. The percentage of boomers with disability, obesity, high cholesterol and high blood pressure is considerably higher than it was for their parents at their age. The number of boomers with high cholesterol is actually twice as high as it was for the previous generation. The number of boomers needing the assistance of a cane or walker has also doubled.
Dr. Dana King, lead author of the report, and his colleagues did some research on boomers’ overall health compared to the previous generation’s health when they were in the same age bracket boomers’ are in now.
